von Hagemann’s famous liver bread

Chicken livers – 1 x 500 gram box

Flour – 300 – 350 grams Oil (Sunflower/canola etc.) – approx 80 mls

Eggs – 2


Aniseed (optional)

Put chicken livers in liquidizer together with vegetables. ( I use 1 large carrot and 1-2 sticks celery or broccoli)

Add a bit of water (enough to get the liquidizer going)

Add the eggs and the oil and liquidize some more.

Pour into mixing bowl and add the flour. ( I use 50% wheat & 50% buckwheat). It should be the consistency of a sponge cake batter

Line a deep over roasting tray with baking paper and pour in the mixture.

Oven temperature: 180 C for approx. 40 minutes. Let cool and turn out.

Cut into bite size pieces. Will fill approx 4-5 500 gram plastic boxes. I put one in the fridge and freeze the others for later use.
